Research

My project explores novel gene-regulatory mechanisms in the development and healthy maintenance of the human brain and their misregulation in neurodegenerative diseases. To do so, primate comparative genomics and stem-cell derived mini-brains (cortical organoids) will be the focus of the project to study the function of the identified novel gene-regulatory properties.
