During my Phd in the Frank Jacobs lab, I am using human stem cell-derived 3D mini brains (organoids), CRISPR-cas9 genomic editing and next generation sequensing techniques to study the impact that retrotransposons have had on the evolution of the primate neuronal gene regulattory pathways.
